Happy Birthday to us!
It’s celebration time for PureKat Consultancy!
PureKat Consultancy Ltd celebrated our third year in business in July! The company, started by Managing Director Katrina Smith in 2017, has experienced steady growth and we now work with clients and candidates across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
PureKat provides recruitment services for temporary, fixed term contracts and permanent roles across a wide range of industry sectors. Over the past three years, our team have successfully placed hundreds of candidates in roles ranging from temporary pickers and packers to HR Specialists and Logistics Managers.
Katrina attributes the success of PureKat to a number of factors, the most important being the company’s philosophy and operating to industry best practice.
We are a corporate member of the Recruitment and Employment Federation, a professional body driving standards within the recruitment sector, and we follow its Code of Professional Practice. We also have a Gangmasters Labour and Abuse Authority (GLAA) licence. The GLAA operates to protect vulnerable and exploited workers in the agriculture, horticulture, packaging and processing sectors.
With around 40,000 recruitment agencies registered in the UK in 2019, recruitment is already a competitive market, further impacted by COVID-19 and soaring numbers of unemployed. Katrina believes this level of competition and a surplus of people looking for work has the potential for adverse recruitment practices to come to the fore.
Katrina comments, “Well before the coronavirus darkened the horizon we were very aware of the need to adhere to professional recruitment standards and follow a strict verification procedure for registering candidates. This time consuming process is how PureKat can offer clients the best person for a role. We also realise that we need to protect candidates to ensure they are not victims of exploitation. In today’s climate these factors have never been more important”.
We are celebrating our third birthday with the launch of our lovely new website. An updated series of the quirky ‘PureKat cats’, which we use extensively on social media channels and on our promotional material, has also been commissioned.
