At PureKat Consultancy we have been known, on occasion, to have a bit of fun and enjoy some tomfoolery. However, when it comes to the nitty gritty of recruitment, well, that is a serious business and we take our responsibilities to candidates and clients to heart.
There are no cutting corners, no ‘sharp practices’, no ‘sailing close to the wind’ – we adhere to the strictest of standards throughout every step of our recruitment procedures. This page outlines the steps we take to ensure the highest levels of compliance.

Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC)
PureKat has been a corporate member of REC since December 2018. The aim of REC is to drive standards of professionalism in the recruitment industry. A company can only become a member if it passes the REC Compliance Test and agrees to adhere to the REC Code of Professional Practice. It is not simply a matter of paying a subscription fee.
By following the REC Code of Professional Practice we can ensure that we go above and beyond our legal obligations to both candidates and clients. That is important to us – we do not just want to ‘tick a box’. The REC Compliance Test has to be taken every two years. Monitoring our activities against this helps keep us on our toes and makes sure that we are always acting ethically and with integrity.
REC membership represents quality and PureKat is proud to be a part of this organisation.

Our clients trust us to find the right person for their position. Sourcing high calibre candidates and making sure they are fully compliant is time-consuming, but essential if we are to fulfil our moral and legal obligations to the client.
These are the steps we take when registering a candidate for a specific job role:-
- CVs reviewed to ensure the candidate has the relevant experience for the position, any gaps in employment are explained
- Health and criminal convictions form completed
- Identification verified – either a valid passport or driving licence with birth certificate
- Visa / work permit obtained where applicable
- Video call to verify ID for Right to Work (RTW)
- Any relevant licences obtained – e.g. Forklift Truck licence
- References requested
Covid-19 Questionnaire completed prior to interview or commencement of employment

Just as we look after our clients, we also need to look after the interests of our candidates. One of the simple ways we achieve this is by never sending a candidate for a job for which they are unsuitable or not qualified to do. Wasting a candidate’s time, knocking their confidence, or mismanaging expectations, with either the job role or the salary on offer, is not how PureKat operates.
We want our candidates to have a positive experience when they deal with PureKat and do everything in our power to make that happen. From treating candidates with respect to proofing their CV and coaching them for the interview – it is all part of the service.

It sounds a bit strange to be talking about any form of slavery in the 21st century. Unfortunately, it is far more prevalent in the UK than people think.
Defined as “the severe exploitation of other people for personal or commercial gain”, modern slavery takes many forms, for example, human trafficking, debt bondage and forced labour.
Eliminating modern slavery is something that the team at PureKat feel strongly about. We want to raise awareness of modern slavery so that our candidates and temporary workers understand what to look out for and our clients know what PureKat regard as acceptable working practices.
Although not bound by law PureKat has published our Modern Slavery Statement, which outlines the main actions we have taken during the financial year to deal with modern slavery in our business and our supply chain. PureKat also has a Modern Slavery Policy for internal use.

PureKat holds a Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) licence. The GLAA licensing scheme regulates businesses that provide workers to the agriculture, horticulture, shellfish gathering, and packaging and processing sectors. Their objective is to ensure that labour providers to the regulated sectors meet the employment standards required by law.
PureKat has passed a GLAA assessment, which covered standards on health and safety, accommodation, pay, transport, and training. The checks also ensured that we comply with tax, National Insurance and VAT regulations.
When you choose to work with PureKat for the supply of staff you can have complete confidence that we are compliant with all the regulations surrounding the exploitation of workers.
We take our responsibilities to candidates and clients to heart
